The Man Who Came Back

The remarkable story of a young RAF pilot who made a forced landing in occupied France in October 1943. His journey home took nearly two months: across France with the Resistance, over the Pyrenees into Spain, then via Gibraltar to England. He soon went back to war.

Less than a year after his forced landing, he was shot down by anti-aircraft fire near Caligny on 5 August 1944. His death began a story of friendship and remembrance that lasted generations.
